My mission is simple,
• Ensure fiscal accountability and transparency. Let’s make sure our tax dollars are spent on educating our kids and closing the achievement gap.
• Support the development of alternative education choices for parents, so that every family can have a choice in obtaining an outstanding education for their children.
• Encourage parent, teacher and community partnerships to improve opportunities for students. Studies show that an involved parent is key to a child’s success, and as a trustee I will encourage partnering with groups that promote parent involvement.
• Build partnerships and identify corporate, educational foundation, and non-profit support to bring external resources and opportunities into our community.
Our children are our future, and their education should be our number one priority. As educators, we should prepare our children for the endless opportunities that will be available to them. Alum Rock has made some progress over the last five years, but still maintains the lowest API scores in Santa Clara County. As trustee's, we should work together with all the stakeholders to turbo charge the progress in our Alum Rock schools.
